Physiotherapy
During your Physiotherapy sessions, your physiotherapist will complete a thorough exam to figure out your diagnosis and then work with you to create an individualized treatment plan for your issue to get you back to your goals. We use an active approach to rehabilitation, so expect to get moving! We will use a combination of education, exercise, and hands-on manual therapy throughout your treatment. We recommend you book an initial assessment + 2 appointments/week for 45mins when booking your assessment to save your first treatment spots. On your assessment, your physiotherapist will work with you to refine your treatment and appointment plan from there.
Concussion Physiotherapy
During your concussion rehabilitation, the physiotherapist will complete a thorough exam to figure out what areas of the brain are impacted and work with you to create an individualized treatment plan. This may include but is not limited to; vestibular rehabilitation, visual rehabilitation, exercise, return to work/school/sport planning, balance training, and neck pain management. A concussion assessment takes a minimum for 2 one-hour-long sessions. Please book a second 60mins treatment as soon as possible after your assessment appointment. We highly recommend you also book 2x/week 60mins sessions over the following 2 weeks to save your first treatment spots. Your physiotherapist will work with you in the first session to refine your treatment plan and appointment plan from there.
Vestibular Physiotherapy
Vestibular Physiotherapy involves the treatment of conditions related to the inner ear. This includes conditions where you may be experiencing dizziness, imbalance, or spinning (vertigo). Your physiotherapist will perform a thorough exam to figure out what area of the inner ear is involved and then work with you to create an individualized treatment plan to get you back to your goals. We highly recommend you also book 1x/week 60mins sessions over the following 2 weeks to save your first treatment spots. Your physiotherapist will work with you in the first session to refine your treatment plan and appointment plan from there.
Shockwave Therapy
Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive procedure that uses high-energy acoustic waves to stimulate healing in injured tissues. By promoting blood flow and accelerating the body's natural healing process, shockwave therapy can provide rapid relief from pain and improve your overall function. Unlike surgery or medication, this innovative treatment offers a safe and effective alternative with minimal side effects and downtime.
If you're suffering from chronic pain or struggling to recover from a sports injury, shockwave therapy could be the solution you've been searching for. Whether you're dealing with tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, or shoulder impingement, our experienced physiotherapists will tailor a treatment plan to suit your individual needs. Shockwave had evidence in supporting the healing of Injuries such as Achilles Tendinopathy, Plantar Fasciitis, Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow, Patellar Tendinopathy/ Jumper's Knee, Hip Pain, Knee pain and Osteoarthritis, Carpal Tunnel, Trigger Finger, Heel Spurs, Shoulder pain and calcifications, DeQuirvain's Tenosynovitis, and more.
If you are already working with another physiotherapist and coming in for shockwave only, we recommend you book 5 appointments, each 1 week apart, 30mins in length after the initial appointment.
If you are coming in for shockwave + overall physiotherapy care, we recommend you book 45mins appointments 2x/wk for the first 2 weeks after your assessment. Your physiotherapist will work with you in the first session to refine your treatment and appointment plan from there.
Bike Fitting
Whether you are looking to race the Tour Divide, climb provincial or national rankings, are a weekend warrior, or simply want to commute more comfortably and ride pain-free, a professional bike fit performed by a Registered Physiotherapist can help to get you there. During your fit, a physical assessment will be performed both on and off of your bike. Your goals and riding style will be discussed and we can decide what changes to your bike can be made for improved success and comfort.
Please bring your bicycle, pedals, shoes, a water bottle, and your normal cycling clothing to the fit. Tighter fitting clothing allows more accurate measurement with our motion capture camera. If you have more than one saddle or stem that you are considering, please bring those as well. Cyclists with aerobars or integrated handlebars should bring any extra pieces or adapters they own to allow position changes. Cyclists with full suspension mountain bikes should bring their normal clothing and gear they will use on the trail including repair kits and full hydration packs, as weight affects suspension sag, and thus saddle placement.
If any additional parts are required, we will give you measurements and part recommendations to help complete your set up. Further physiotherapy follow-ups may also be beneficial to help improve function and performance on the bike. Have any questions or concerns? Feel free to get in touch by email info@ridgelinephysio.com or phone at 778-561-2272.
** Extended health insurance plans vary but may cover up to 100% of this fee under Physiotherapy services. Please check with your insurance company for coverage **
